I wish I had it in April of 2010. Can't imagine it brought warm fuzzy feelings to the Japanese citizens looking up from the ruins of Tokyo. From its repetitive sub-Pirsig-level allegorical message to its frankly bizarre mapping of the predator/prey relationship onto a sexual one to its wretched prose, this book is as sexist as it is tiresome. Robyn Carr has me completely hooked on the town of Virgin River. This has helped me a lot. Maybe that's why so many people who have followed her throughout her career and life can relate to her and see her as a big sister.
